Why you need to consider biometrics

Everybody is talking about it - but nobody is doing it (the right way).
single sign on single-sign-on singlesignon fingerprint security smartcards tokens biometrics biometric security logon Id Theft disgruntled employee damage
Single Sign On means to hand out the Master Key to your Corporation.
Of course it is very convenient to open the front door of your building, several doors in
the office and even most drawers and desks just with one single key -but have you thought
about how secure your information will be? If you hand out these "Master Keys" to every employee.

Wouldn't you want to make sure, that they can only use their personal key and nobody else's?

        Learn how:

The challenge of single sign on is to log on to multiple programs, systems and networks as convenient as possible but still keeping it reasonably secure...
Passwords

Would you seriously consider using ONE insecure
password to give an individual access
to all your systems?

"Wrong way" - not suggested

Passwords are very expensive to administer, inconvenient to remember and for sure not secure enough for Single Sign on. We call passwords an accepted 'security gap'

Using a smart cards or tokens is more secure than using passwords...

                             Smart Cards / Tokens

The invention of smart cards and tokens was definitely an improvement, which increased convenience but still doesn't provide you with any form of identity management. You still have no proof who did the critical transaction. Tests have shown that users lose time handling (and finding) the devices and many times the device will be left in the reader, which actually decreases security.

"On the way" - definitely an improvement

Smart Cards and tokens have definitely been a great improvement compared to the passwords, but there is still no proof that the user of the devise is the authorized owner of the device. The devices - just like any other key - can always be lost, stolen or just handed to another person and there will never be a proof that the user of the device was the authorized user.

What, if you could access any of your systems with the touch of a finger?

Biometrics is the only secure way
to uniquely identify the user!!!

Biometrics

Using proven fingerprint technology from biometric hardware experts, you can conveniently access  any of your systems or networks with the touch of a finger. The user gets uniquely identified and there is no doubt that another person could have used somebody else's 'Master Key'  There are no passwords to remember or to reset and no smart cards or tokens you have to hold on to.

"Right way" - highly suggested

Biometric technology is closing the historically accepted 'security gap' (passwords /smart cards / tokens) and provides you with the level of security and identity management your company should have to protect your companies most valuable asset - your 'information'.

Passwords are insecure, inconvenient and expensive to administer!

Smart Cards and Tokens more secure but are still no proof of identity!

Biometrics is the most convenient way, which uniquely identifies the user!
